Questions, answered
Do I have to share my Faire or Notion password?
No. Stockroom connects through Faire's partner-app OAuth and Notion's official OAuth integration. You authorize access on each provider's own consent screen — your passwords never pass through Stockroom, and you can revoke access from either dashboard whenever you like.
How are my tokens stored?
The access tokens Stockroom receives are encrypted with AES-256-GCM (authenticated encryption) before they are written to the database, and are stored as raw bytes rather than text. Each value gets a fresh random nonce, and the encryption key lives in a managed secret store — never in the codebase.
Tokens are never written to logs. Request logging captures metadata like status and latency, but never credentials.
What can Stockroom actually see?
Only what it needs to do the job: read access to your Faire orders, and the ability to create and update pages in the single Notion database you choose. It does not request write access to Faire, and it cannot reach the rest of your Notion workspace beyond the database you grant.
How quickly do orders show up in Notion?
Within about 15 minutes. Stockroom runs an incremental sync every 15 minutes that only pulls orders changed since the last run, so new orders and status changes flow into Notion shortly after they land on Faire — no exports, no copy-paste.
Will I get duplicate pages in Notion?
No. The sync is idempotent: each Faire order maps to exactly one Notion page, tracked internally. Running the sync again updates the existing page rather than creating a new one, so your database stays clean.
Can I use my own Notion database layout?
Stockroom writes a defined set of properties — order number, status, retailer, total, currency, item count and order date, plus products and line items. Start from the ready-made template and you're set. You're free to add your own columns, views, and relations around them; Stockroom only touches the properties it manages.
What happens if I disconnect?
Disconnecting removes the connection and deletes the stored Faire and Notion tokens right away. The order pages already written to your Notion database remain yours — they simply stop updating. You can also pause a connection temporarily and resume it later without losing anything.
